如果没看懂，怎么判断平行？ 第一，看介词，overlaid和banked后面都是with，可见这两者平行的可能性大。 第二，看整体结构，句中先是简短地说了个conical in shape，然后写了堆overlaid with slabs of bark, either cedar or pine，那么大概就可以猜测后面这一大堆banked with dirt to a height of three to four feet是和后者对应，一方面字数差不多，另一方面都是Ved+Prep+Noun+Modifier. 第三，假设banked with dirt to a height of three to four feet是和conical in shape平行，那这整个句子根据简洁清晰的原则最好写成...was banked with xxx and conical in shape, its framework of poles overlaid with slabs of bark, either cedar or pine. 既然GMAC没这么写，那说明这种想法可能就有问题。
