OG蓝本给出了很明确的解释，\"thus\" is the most ecnomical way to say \"this way, like that, as such, or in this way.\" 而且！注意this way 和in this way的区别，前者指的是保持这种状态，后者表示通过这种状态保持！明显前者和句意相符，后者太怪了。所以DE之间选E！！

RON:"in this way" would NOT be fine, because no "way" has been described. in fact, no adverb is present at all to be properly parallel to "in this way" (an adverbial construction); diamond is most certainly not a "way" of doing anything.

* \"in this way\" is unidiomatic here.
\"in this way\" can refer only to the MANNER IN WHICH AN EVENT OR ACTION OCCURS OR IS PERFORMED.
it CANNOT refer to the physical state of something. for instance, in the above example, you CANNOT use \"in this way\" to refer to the butterfly stage.

D remain + in this way 多余
OG解释的很好，D although表示heat and pressure 已经removed, E even when 表示不管有没有removed

thus 有 this way 的意思啊。。。。in this way 是用这种方法的意思（表不了状态的），还是句意来解啊
