我把曼哈顿论坛上这道题的解答看了一遍：

A 正确答案
B growth was more than 错误：应该说growth was higher than
C which had been for 和前面不平行
D what it has been for 和前面不平行
E what it did for 和前面不平行

首先更正自己之前的思维方式，GMAT本身也允许一定程度的代词指代不清晰的问题，所以我应该尽量不用代词指代不清来排除选项

1. Ron是谈选项D的时态错误：意思是1950年之前发生的事情已经是过去的事情，所以不应该用现在完成时

2. 关于平行：平行结构的原则是，被平行的成分结构应该能够一一对应，比如A of B对应C of D, 或者that A 对应that B
a. 例外1：意思上平行但是结构不平行

还有其实a里的it比bc里的that好的原因在于it是完全指代，可以指代整个growth of the economy,但是bc里用的是that，那就只能指代核心词growth，虽然不是完全错误，但是没有a里面用it指代globoal economy清晰

并不是，有that可以指代A of B 的例题，这里的重点是noun后面跟着time frame 的noun modifier，所以对应比较对象也必须有，不然无法指代

补充一下，ron说gmat不会考察the的用法，10000 years前面加不加the 不做过多考虑The most important piece of advice I can offer here is that no gmat problem will ever depend on the usage of "a"/"an"/"the".
If such a problem were to appear on the exam, then it would discriminate heavily in favor of speakers of English and/or Western European languages, and heavily against most

看了ron的解释来概括一下
首先from when的用法ron说没有错 只不过没有from the beginning好
来分析一下错误选项
B中 the growth is more than the growth不对 more什么要说清楚
C中which的用法有问题 which前面必须有逗号 唯一的特例就是介词加which可以不用逗号
DE最大的问题就是 在xx of xx的结构中 后面的it指代不明
并且D的has been时态有问题 应该是一般过去时或者过去完成时
E中 it did和前面没有对应 前面是名词短语 没有did 任何事

我自己理解了一下：A选项里面the global economy grew more，这里的more是作为副词，所以句子是完整的。而B选项里面the growth of the global economy was more，这里was的后面没有宾语，所以认为more后面到底什么没有说清楚，所以句子是不完整的，缺宾语。只是我们这种non-native speaker不容易一眼看出来罢了。

我不是很赞同，more可以做形容词吧，比如the number of apples is more，只是more做形容词的意思是更多的，growth应该用higher而不是more

B 改变句意到不合理程度: 合理句意是在10年间，经济得增长量是超过之前的。 B 用 was be动词的主系表， 重点在表达持续状态，即growth of the global economy 这个量在10年间，一直保持在一个超过之前的数值上，这是和A有差异的！

谈谈一个月后做题的感受，这次做对了选A。

B错因为that的指代问题，that无法指代growth of the global economy词组。GWD这个概念考了好多词了，同样不能指代的是this。
C错，因为that which看起来很累赘。还有就是had been的时态问题，虽然过去的过去用过去完成正确。但是had been还有延续，对现在有影响的意思。很明显原文要表达的只是过去这个事儿，后文也没任何说growth对现在的影响之类。
D错，has been比had been更不好。has been标识一直延续到现在都没结束。
E错，the growth of economy讲的是the growth，后面的it did，从语法上it应该指代growth，可是it did在句意上又很明显是要说economy did。所以指代问题。
只有A对。
这次做题没有注意到那个the 1000

不是的，E选项简化一下是：The growth exceeded what it did ，如果把exceeded看作是growth做的事情的话，这句话的翻译就变成：增长超过了它（曾经）超过的？？？
这样翻译逻辑意思明显不通的！
做SC一定要看逻辑意思啊！不能只看语法错误

对对对！我就是这么排出了CDE，然后B是因为我觉得when应该指代一个时间点，而不是during 10,000 years

我不知道你用 指代 来排除 E 对不对， 但是我觉得，it 指的是 the growth, 然后E 选项中说： what it did for the 10,000 years...---growth 并没有 did anything, 所以我觉得这个地方意思讲不通的

RON: Yeah, you can\'t use the present perfect if the time interval is over. If the trend continues into the present day, then the present perfect is appropriate.

Even if that were fixed, choice D still suffers from fatal wordiness / lack of concision, especially in comparison to the correct choice.

因为介词短语不能向后修饰名词，所以a的between只能修饰was

that在这里是不对的。that的用法一般和 " , which"有点像：
Our office, which has two lunchrooms, is located in Chengdu.
Our office that has two lunchrooms is located in Chengdu.

感觉B还有个错误，Between 1990 and 2000 the growth of the global economy was more than that during 10,000 years, from when agriculture began， 10,000 years不是一个时间点，所以from when这个说法也不成立啊，应该是10,000 years ago 才能用 from when 吧

A里面的it因为and后面主要结构是it did 是一个主谓结构，和and前的主谓结构进行平行并列。与economy grew 进行平行并列。所以it 指了economy did指了grow.
