From Ron: When "while" is used to indicate a contrast, it should ideally be used to indicate a contrast between two simultaneous things. (If you're contrasting things in different timeframes, there are plenty of other contrast signals that can be used instead.)所以AB选项不能用while，因为时间不对等。

你理解错了，Ron说while其实只有一种用法，但这种用法里面有两种含义，既要表达“同时”也要表达“对比”，“同时”和“对比”都需要包含在while里面，而不是像你说的两种用法，一种表对比，另一种表同时。

两个句子并列用 but 连接，第二个句子和第一个句子主语相同，第二个句子的主语可以省略。

Here\'s the last part of C and E:

(C) falling behind in its paying doctors
(E) falling behind in paying doctors

In (C) paying becomes a modifier describing doctors- the company was falling behind in doctors.

In (E) paying is a gerund- the company was falling behind in paying doctors.

觉得CE的主要矛盾不在于C 多了it，因为 有没有it，两个答案这句话都是正确的，无非是SVO，but SVO； 和 SVO，but VO 的区别；
C错在 in its paying; prep+N结构；paying 做名词显然不好，应该用它的名词形式payment；
相反E的 in + paying； prep+doing 结构显然 优于C；

prove表被动可以是不加be，相同的词还有take 和 bring：but the coin proved unpopular because it looked and felt too much like a quarter.

exo me？！prep97不是说while没有at the same time的意思么？所以while at the same time是可以连用的...prep笔记56，说的清清楚楚and和but如果前面有逗号，一定要连接完整的句子，就算主语相同主语也不能省啊...

逗号+and有这个说法，但是but是完全没有。另外，关于逗号+and后面要补出主语需要注意一些陷阱，例如S do A, 插入语, and do B.这种中间有插入语的情况下，不用补出主语。还有就是平行中包含平行，例如do A, B and C; and do D, E and F. 这种情况也不用补出主语。以上两种情况都没有违背逗号+and后开一个新的clause需要补出主语的规则，它们都是主句层面的并列。所以一切规则都不要死记，要根据实际的题灵活应用，同时注意总结。希望对大家有用

应该没有“and和but如果前面有逗号，一定要连接完整的句子”这种说法，反例太多了，比如下面的
As criminal activity on the Internet becomes more and more sophisticated, not only are thieves able to divert cash from company bank accounts, they can also pilfer valuable information such as business development strategies, new product specifications, and contract bidding plans, and sell the data to competitors.
这道题是OG上面的，我觉得主要还是看句意。

\"proved\" can also be an active-voice verb, especially in reference to descriptive qualities.
e.g.
John, who had always bragged the most about his fighting abilities, proved to be the most cowardly person in the group when actual threats arose.
or
my efforts proved insufficient, and i returned home without winning the prize.

AB错因为while。从句意上知道是一个转折关系。不是同时发生。

做题的时候我发现了C中it多余的情况。和D中没有谓语的情况。但是又心里痒痒的要平行，proving&falling因为都是在说医院的状态。所以硬是选了D，结果错了。

我发现GWD，或者说早期的GMAC很喜欢考一些看似是平行，其实不是，或者要多看一眼的题目。比如A, b, and C，看起来AbC是平行的（我把b用小写用于区分），但其实b其实是修饰A的。只有A和C才是真正的平行。

无数次了，真的要注意。

E中的proved不是过去分词，而是prove的过去式，与became时态一致。Prove主动表被动。例如，this project will prove unworkable. 加上it多余。C后面的in its paying语法和句意上没有任何问题，但是GMAT不采用这种its v-ing的表达方式，而采用its noun.的形式。另外, 对while, although, even though这类转折词以及will这类改变明显改变句意的词，一定要格外警惕。一般原则是：原句中没有，则一般不加，原句中有的话，一定要看是否能表达作者原意。then,这个词就决定了while是不能加上去的，翻译成中文看看你就知道为什么了。

我觉得Ron对于“，+ but”的解读可以这样理解：
but连接两个成分而不是句子时前面加逗号的情况：
the comma is sometimes employed when “but” is used to connect units smaller than clauses, if those units are so long that the sentence becomes difficult to read without the comma.（连接的部分太长了，以至于不加逗号容易产生误解）
不要把它理解成对but作为连词前后加句子的解读，而应该是but链接两个句子成分（比如动词词组）的解释，因为正常情况下是不该加逗号的

prove是跟前面主句的谓语动词became平行的，所以prove的发出者也是company，不是像你想的那样“主动还是被动prove”进行选择的。
