C比A好的最明显的一点是中间那个left比原句having left好。原句“having left”完成时表示life forms留下化石的时间比并列的前一个whether里life forms emerged的时间还早，这是不合逻辑的。显然应该是先出现后有化石，所以原句肯定错

我觉得 这个题目根本就没有争议，肯定是C。咱们说说A把，，，既然前面用了完成时，说明这个trace已然留下来了，那么后面为啥还要讨论他能不能留下来？这不是自相矛盾么？ 若是用过去式，，说明不确定trace现在的状态，，，然后C中后面再用过去式讨论一下是否exist。曼哈顿例举如下： Right： The child DREW a square in the sand, but the ocean ERASED it. 分析：沙子现在的状态不清楚。 Right： The child DREW a square in the sand, but the ocean HAS ERASED it. 分析：Erase动作的影响仍然存在，沙子现在的状态是非方形的。 Wrong：The child HAS DRAWN a square in the sand, but the ocean HAS ERASED it. 分析：两动作的影响均存在，语意矛盾！

having！没有明确的时间状语为什么要用完成时呢？to begin with是“首先”的意思，作为状语放在最后不过是迷惑一下大家。放在presuming之前，大家可能看得就更明白一些了。

说清楚一个事儿，必须用句子，presuming后面是个名词+分词短语，意思是进行不下去的。只能说成“such life forms”。。。完了。所以还是要看动词啊，核心啊
