Sunflowers growing in pots were placed, with their roots submerged, in the pond contaminated with radioactive elements. The sunflowers kept growing; in the process, they absorbed radioactive elements. Within twelve days, 85 percent of the radioactive elements were removed from the water, which is no less than can be accomplished with the much more expensive conventional filtration techniques. 大家主要的疑问是B为什么对，
首先原文conclusion是Scientists therefore propose using sunflowers for decontamination wherever there are radioactively contaminated ponds.​注意有个wherever,意思是只要含有辐射就可以用sunflower吸收。所以要削弱的话，一个削弱方向就是削弱wherever.也就是会有其他因素使sunflower在有的地方不行。
再看B，注意B中有in many ponds,并没有说是所有all the ponds, 所以B并没有否定原文的premise，也就是说：原文premise说sunflower可以长在有辐射的水塘里，B说这些水塘中有很多都是温度太低，会杀死sunflower，削弱了conclusion中的wherever，也就是说

结论是：在任何地方都可以用向日葵。
给各位考友提个醒，做cr的时候，不是都是非黑即白的。举个例子，这个题的结论不是用向日葵可以解除污染，而是任何地方都可以用向日葵。对于某件事情的反驳其实有俩个维度，一个是程度，一个是对错，就例如这个题，这个题我只要反驳有的地方不能用，就反驳了这个结论。用个最简单通俗的例子就是。这家餐厅有很多顾客，所以这家餐厅是最好的吃的餐厅。你既可以反驳他不是最好吃的，也可以反驳他不是好吃的。这个在题目中经常会以only，best，must等程度副词出现。他的结论是没错的，只是程度描述有错误。这是最近的感悟，希望可以帮到各位。

A围绕其他植物谈的，显然与向日葵背道而驰，排除。B 说水凉杀死了向日葵，整体意思说池塘里没有向日葵了，把原文的祖坟给刨了，留着。C 说在水中的向日葵和在地上的向日葵哪个长的更好，没提，杀。D说只有大叶向日葵能在水中长，就算有关也不是驳斥，是支持，与问题所问不符，杀。E说向日葵在不同池塘里吸收放射性元素的速度哪个更快，显然没说，杀。

我个人觉得是因为D只是削弱了部分叶子不大的这个植物，但是C基本上告诉你因为水冷所有这个植物都不能活下来，所以C相对来说更削弱

为什么是B呢，题干中已经说了，S能够在污染的水中keep growing，那B还说S不能在其中生长，按照英吉的话来说，这不是抬杠吗.....

个人认为题目中科学家做的这个向日葵可过滤辐射元素的实验，应该都是在比较理想的条件下完成的，所以当真正想普及的时候，b的选项就指明了，事实上很多含有辐射元素的池子的温度都过低，不利于向日葵的生长，从而限制了科学家的计划。

而且结论有一个词过于绝对／wherever／，科学家想在任何一个被辐射元素污染的池子里用向日葵过滤辐射元素。所以计划的limitation就在于，／in many ponds／很多被辐射元素污染的池子的水温度都过低。／in many／这个程度说明了这个计划不能／wherever／。

理解题目很重要！不仅仅是要看懂。题目的 a limitation on the applicability of the proposed method of decontamination”，暗示这是一道手段目的削弱题，手段是“using sunflowers”,目的是“decontamination”,问削弱手段的适用性（applicability）：削弱手段的可操作性 or 削弱达成目的可能性。
